Station Area Vision



As a gateway to Prince George's County and the State of Maryland on the Orange Line, this center near several major regional transportation routes is adjacent to the District of Columbia. Redevelopment opportunities exist for commercial and residential uses.

Cheverly Metrorail Station



  • Located south of U.S. 50 and west of Columbia Park Road.
  • The station is adjacent to floodplain to the south and west.
  • The nearest community is the Town of Cheverly.
  • The General Plan places this station in the Developed Tier and classifies it as a Community Center.
  • This station is included in the Tuxedo Road-Arbor Street Sector Plan, which was completed in 2003.
  • Access is via John Hanson Highway (US 50) and Columbia Park Road.

Summary of Allowable Uses



The land uses planned within one-half mile of the Metro station are service commercial. The Bladensburg-New Carrollton and Vicinity Master Plan (1994) is the applicable plan for the area north of the station and the Landover and Vicinity Master Plan (1993) is the applicable plan for the area south of the Metro station.
