Get 2010 Census Data

The Decennial Census collects data every 10 years and provides counts of the population and their basic characteristics (sex, age, race, Hispanic origin, and homeowner status) for the United States, Puerto Rico, and the island areas. The data is used for apportionment of the seats in the House of Representatives.

Get American Community Survey Data

The American Community Survey (ACS) collects and produces population and housing information every year instead of every ten years like the Decennial Census. American Community Survey data is collected from a sample of the population rather than from the whole population. As a result all ACS data are survey estimates, and not total counts. The ACS also provides economic data (income, employment, poverty, housing cost, etc.) that is not available in the Decennial Census.

Get Data from the Population Estimates Program

Although the American Community Survey (ACS) produces population, demographic and housing unit estimates, it is the Census Bureau's Population Estimates Program that produces and disseminates the official estimates of the population for the nation, states, counties, cities and towns and estimates of housing units for states and counties in between decennial years.
