PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY PLANNING BOARD TO HOLD
PUBLIC HEARING ON ADDISON ROAD METRO REGULATING PLAN

UPPER MARLBORO, MD.—The  Prince George’s County Planning Board of The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) will hold a public hearing on the
Addison Road Metro Regulating Plan, a part of the adopted Subregion 4 Master Plan and endorsed Sectional Map Amendment (SMA), pursuant to the provisions of Article 28 of the Annotated Code of Maryland and the Zoning Ordinance of Prince George’s County, being also Subtitle 27 of the Prince George’s County Code.

The hearing will be held on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Hearing Room on the first floor of the County Administration Building, 14741 Governor Oden Bowie Drive, Upper Marlboro.  Doors will open at 6:00 p.m. for participants to view exhibits, and planning staff will be available to answer questions.

The proposed Regulating Plan will apply the Urban Centers and Corridor Nodes Development and Zoning Code of Prince George’s County (CB-1-2010) to the Addison Road Metro Station and vicinity as defined in the attached map.  The Regulating Plan will provide a mechanism for medium- to high-intensity, mixed-use, pedestrian- and transit-oriented development and allocating Building Envelope standards, public spaces, and Street types within the proposed boundary. The Regulating Plan sets the development standards that apply to specified locations within the center or corridor node; establishes public spaces including parks, plazas, and streetscapes; assigns the street types, identifies environmentally regulated areas; and provides information on the uses permitted for each building site.

A community meeting to present and discuss the proposed Regulating Plan for the Addison Road Metro community center will be held on Thursday evening, May 6, at 6:30 p.m. at St. Margaret’s Church, The Omega Room, 410 Addison Road, South, Seat Pleasant.
