Prince George’s Planning Department’s Speaker Series to Feature
The Metropolitan Revolution: How Cities and Metros Are Fixing Our Broken Politics and Fragile Economy

Featuring Jennifer Bradley, Director of the Center for Urban Innovation,
as Guest Speaker


Upper Marlboro, MD -- The Prince George’s County Planning Department of The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) will explore how metropolitan areas and cities are working together to improve the political and economic systems as a part of its 2015 Speaker Series. The event will be held on Wednesday, November 18, 2015, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the County Administration Building, 1st Floor Council Hearing Room, 14741 Governor Oden Bowie Drive, Upper Marlboro, MD 20772.

The November Speaker Series will feature Jennifer Bradley, Director of the Center for Urban Innovation for The Aspen Institute and co-author of The Metropolitan Revolution. Bradley will present her findings in her co-authored book followed by a round-table discussion. The presentation will cover key examples of regional collaboration for economic development, addressing issues such as transportation planning, the connection between land use/zoning and innovation, and high leverage land use and infrastructure strategies that support economic diversification. The book, which was widely praised and cited, explains the critical role of metropolitan areas in the country’s economy, society, and politics.

The Speaker Series is free and open to the public.
