County Council Approves the Subregion 1 Master Plan and Sectional Map Amendment
On June 23, 2010, the County Council passed Council Resolution CR-58-2010, approving the Master Plan and Sectional Map Amendment (SMA) for the Subregion 1 area. Until the final version of the sector plan and SMA has been printed, the approved plan consists of three documents:

1. The 2009 Preliminary Subregion 1 Master Plan and Sectional Map Amendment    

2. The Planning Board's Resolution of Adoption PGCPB No. 09-164

3. The County Council's Resolution of Approval CR-58-2010                          

County Council Calls for Second Public Hearing 
On March 25, 2010, the County Council, sitting as the District Council, proposed amendments to the Adopted Subregion 1 Master Plan and Endorsed Sectional Map Amendment. These proposed amendments are subject to public comment at a Second Public Hearing and can be found by clicking here.
The Second Public Hearing will take place on Monday, May 10, 2010, starting at 7:00 p.m. in the auditorium of High Point High School, 3601 Powder Mill Road in Beltsville.
Persons desiring to speak on the record are requested to call 301-952-4584/TTY 301-952-4366 to register in advance or may register at the hearing. Individual speakers and representatives from a group or groups will be limited to three minutes.
Written testimony and/or exhibits will be accepted in lieu of, or in addition to, oral testimony. To be accepted into the record, written testimony or comments must be original, signed documents; e-mails or faxes will not be considered, unless followed by originals mailed to the Clerk of the Council. Written comments should be submitted to: Clerk of the Council, County Administration Building, Room 2198, 14741 Governor Oden Bowie Drive, Upper Marlboro, MD 20772. The record will be open until the close of business Thursday, May 13, 2010.

The Subregion I Master Plan area is approximately 40 square miles or 25,400 acres and consists of four planning areas (60, 61, 62, and 64), located in the northeastern area of the County. The City of Laurel is not included in Subregion I since the city has its own planning zoning authority.
