County Council Approves Subregion 4 Master Plan and Sectional Map Amendment

On June 1, 2010, the County Council passed Council Resolution CR-049-2010, approving the Subregion 4 Master Plan and Sectional Map Amendment (SMA). Until the final version of the sector plan and SMA has been printed, the approved plan consists of three documents:

1. Approved Subregion 4 Master Plan and Endorsed Sectional Map Amendment is available.
2. The Planning Board’s Resolution of Adoption PGCPB 09-163
3. The County Council’s Resolution of Approval CR-049-2010, including attachments

The Subregion 4 Master Plan is being undertaken to build a cohesive vision for the established communities in Prince George's County. The plan includes the communities located between the District of Columbia boundary (Southern and Eastern Avenues to the west), the Capital Beltway (east), US 50 (north), and Suitland Parkway (south). The master plan will be a tool for balancing future growth and development in the region while formalizing county policies as they relate to transportation, the environment, public facilities, economic development, housing, revitalization, urban design, and historic preservation. The two-year master plan process is intended to facilitate a dialogue among neighbors, business owners, investors, and civic leaders to learn and exchange ideas with the intention of creating a cohesive vision.
