CharretteM-NCPPC conducted the Bowie State MARC Station charrette from September 30, 2008, through October 3, 2008, at Bowie State University. The Bowie State MARC Station charrette was an intense multi-day collaborative planning process during which stakeholders and the M-NCPPC team constructed a preferred design concept for the project area. The charrette started with a student question and answer session and a kick-off presentation on September 30 followed by an open house on October 1 and final presentation on October 3. Residents, business owners, and BSU students, faculty, and staff provided input and feedback throughout the week as the design team worked to materialize the concept plan. Over 95 stakeholders participated in the charrette. They helped to shape four design and development alternatives that ultimately led to the creation of the preferred design concept. This concept will be futher refined during the upcoming months and presented to the public at the Post-charrette scheduled for December 2008. The final charrette presentation highlighting the illustrative preferred design concept along with key transportation, housing, economic, and environmental recommendations is available on-line . The preferred illustrative design concept for the Bowie State MARC Station area is also available as a separate file on-line .
