Central Branch Avenue Corridor Revitalization Sector Plan
On April 2, 2013, the District Council approved the Central Branch Avenue Corridor Revitalization Sector Plan via Council Resolution CR-24-2013.
On January 10, 2013, the Prince George’s County Planning Board held a worksession on the
digest of testimony from the joint public hearing. On January 24th, the Planning Board adopted the Central Branch Avenue Revitalization Corridor Sector plan via Resolution PGCPB No. 13-09 and transmitted it to the District Council for a worksession scheduled on March 19, 2013. If no major amendments are proposed, the County Council will direct staff to prepare a resolution approving the plan in early April. If major amendments are proposed, a second public hearing will be scheduled.

A joint public hearing to receive testimony on the Preliminary Central Branch Avenue Corridor Revitalization Sector Plan scheduled for Tuesday, October 30, was held on Monday, Monday, November 5, 2012, 7:00 p.m. at the First Floor Council Hearing Room, CAB, 14741 Governor Oden Bowie Drive, Upper Marlboro, MD 20772. The new Central Branch Avenue Corridor Revitalization Sector Plan will focus primarily on Camp Springs, Morningside, and Clinton, looking closely at the economic, land use, and transportation relationships these communities share with each other around Joint Base Andrews and along the Branch Avenue corridor. The plan will examine opportunities for redevelopment, transportation improvements, and strategic public investments that can promote economic development and better connectivity within the plan area.

Please note that although the Branch Avenue Metro station falls within the sector plan boundary, only general recommendations will be made for the station area. This area will be treated in more detail as one of the focus areas of the Southern Green Line Station Area Plan (formerly the Metro Green Line Transit-Oriented Development Corridor Action Plan).
