Meetings, Charrettes & Workshops
Wednesday, October 12, 2011
Staff presented new information about the cost of transportation improvements and showed a drive through simulation of one of the village development scenarios. There was a discussion about the scenario, as well as a number of other community concerns. Staff did not present as much new information as planned, so a final community meeting will be scheduled in the spring. The purpose will be to discuss outstanding concerns and recommendations from the study and the Star-Spangled Banner Scenic Byway Corridor Management Plan for community consideration.

Staff presented a brief summary of the project to a well-attended community forum held by Council Member Mel Franklin. Community members raised questions about the cost of transportation improvements, wastewater treatment options, and more. Our final meeting in the fall will include responses to these questions amongst other topics.

Several documents are available from this meeting which drew approximately 70 community members.
- For a copy of the meeting agenda and a revised conceptual build-out analysis presentation, please use this link. (Note: please see the revisions to slide 9 and 10 made following the March 7 meeting.)
- The community members in attendance also participated in a general and visual preference survey. The purpose of the survey was to gather some general demographic information from participants, understand areas of community concern, and begin a conversation about the design of future development in the study area. Community members used electronic polling equipment to take the survey which allowed everyone to see the results of their survey choices immediately. To see the results, use this link.
- A summary of some supplemental written responses to the survey, as well as general meeting notes, will be posted shortly.
- Some additional analysis of the survey results is being prepared for the next project meeting. Please stay tuned for an announcement of the next meeting date!
