Joint Bicounty Master Plan Process

The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) is the agency responsible for creating master plans and day-to-day planning responsibilities in both Prince George's and Montgomery County. The bicounty nature of M-NCPPC will provide a good foundation to begin working toward a bicounty sector plan for the Takoma/Langley Crossroads area. However, over time each county has adopted different rules and procedures for completing master plans resulting in different time frames and planning milestones when completing a sector plan. During the pre-planning phase of this project, each respective county's M-NCPPC planning division has been working toward balancing county goals and administrative procedures. This work is intended to create a process that will balance county procedures and best serve area residents and stakeholders participating in the planning process.
