Project Description

The Prince George's County Planning Department of The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) has initiated a comprehensive amendment to its Zoning Ordinance and Subdivision Regulations.

Through a series of research efforts, interviews with stakeholders, written reports and participation, the Planning Department will focus on the following major objectives:

  • Evaluating the effectiveness of current regulations and suggesting changes needed to implement the General Plan's policy recommendations for the centers and corridors, Developed Tier, Developing Tier, and the Rural Tier.
  • Analyzing the development review process and recommending streamlining measures to promote efficiency, transparency, and certainty in the decision-making process to ensure high quality development.
  • Examining the form, function, and layout of the Zoning Ordinance and Subdivision Regulations, recommending revisions, and producing a user-friendly format.
The project progress will be updated periodically on this website.
