 | Hispanic Heritage Celebration: Fran OviedoArt Exhibition: Tuesday, September 13, 2022 - Friday, November 4, 2022
Artist Reception: Thursday, September 29, 2022, 6 - 8 pm
In this exhibition, Fran Oviedo’s paintings allude to her native country of Chile, where she lived for much of her life. However, being that her work is abstract landscapes and, in some cases, reaching complete abstraction, the viewer can be transported anywhere in the world or from their imagination. Oviedo’s works largely reflect her inner, optimistic and adventurous world, and that gets further influenced by particular situations she is in.

I Dream in Color: Monica MiltonArt Exhibition: Tuesday, May 3, 2022- Thursday, August 11, 2022 Artist Reception - Thursday, May 19, 2022, 7 - 9 pm Monica Milton is a self-taught artist who works primarily in acrylic paint on canvas. She began honing her artistic skills with graphite pencil and then graduated to using colored pencils to add a touch of color. Although she has always loved creating art, she did not begin painting until 2016 when she got out of her comfort zone and realized painting, though less controlled, can be a magical experience. She focuses on simplicity and that serves as a contrast to the multitude of vibrant colors that threads her work. She often focuses on women with dark complexions and uses various colors to highlight both their beauty and their power. |
