High School & Adult Groups
As the first U.S. military aviation field and the oldest continuously operating airport in the world, the College Park Airport has seen many important firsts of military aviation.
Visitors will learn about the site's early days as the first Army Aviation School, experiments and achievements in military aviation, the development of helicopters, and World War II industry in Prince George's County.
Visitors will get to see airplanes developed for Army use, including training airplanes from World War I and World War II.
This tour is great for high school groups, including ROTC programs, to learn more about the history of military aviation and how it relates to the collections of the College Park Aviation Museum.
For interested groups, this tour also includes a STEM-related experiment or activity and the opportunity to climb inside of an airplane.
