The Fairwood Community Park Performance Series and Music Festival has been bringing community residents, artists and culture lovers together since 2013. Performances are FREE and suitable for all ages!  

The festival has grown into one of the most anticipated performing arts events in Prince George’s County. The list of musical acts that have performed at Fairwood include high profile national acts and regional favorites such as Sugar Bear and EU, The Chuck Brown Band, DC Fusion, Secret Society, Akua Alrich, and The Let It Flow Band. Additionally, the touring company of Shakespeare in the Parks makes an annual stop at Fairwood, performing some of the most popular plays from the expansive and eternally popular catalog of playwright William Shakespeare.

Fairwood Summer Performances History

This summer tradition began in 2013 as a single-day event bringing community residents and visitors together to enjoy the creations on display by local artists and craftspeople. Musical entertainment was provided by some of the area’s favorite bands. Over the years, Fairwood residents became collaborators, thereby ensuring that the desires of the community remained central to planning the festival.

Now firmly established as a seasonal series, it has grown into one of the most anticipated performing arts events in Prince George’s County.
