The Suitland Bog is an example of a Maryland coastal plain bog or magnolia bog.
This bog is a unique wetland within the Washington Metropolitan Area. It hosts a variety of carnivorous plants as well as many plants that are on the Maryland Natural Heritage Programs “Rare, Threatened, and Endangered Plants of Maryland” list.

The bog is open to the public from dawn to sunset.
Visitors should park at Suitland Community Center and enter the trail to the Bog via the Regency Parkway entrance.
The entrance to the Suitland Bog is located on Regency Parkway. Parking is at the Suitland Community Center, 5600 Regency Ln, Forestville, MD 20747
From the Capital Beltway (I-495), take Exit 7A (Branch Avenue), toward Waldorf. Take Route 5 south. Take the Allentown Road exit. Make a left onto Allentown Road. Stay on Allentown Road through five lights. Turn left onto Suitland Road at the 6th light. Follow Suitland Road until it passes under Suitland Parkway. Turn right on to Regency Parkway. Turn left on Regency Lane. Park at Suitland Community Center and walk to the trail entrance on Regency Parkway.
