The second Edmonston Community Workshop was held Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at the Edmonston Town Hall. The town is has reviewed the draft strategy and it is now being reviewed and edited by staff.

Applied for by the Town of Edmonston, this economic development strategy will help the community to identify existing assets, develop a vision and goals, identify funding and collaboration opportunities, and leverage resources from various entities to meet plan objectives. Specifically, the strategy will work to implement the Economic Prosperity goal and policies of the 2014 Approved Plan Prince George’s 2035 General Plan and the Economic Development goals, objectives, and policies of the 2009 Approved Port Towns Sector Plan with a focus on business retention, expansion and recruitment, competitive positioning, economic diversification and resilience, and livability. This work will help in informing the town’s future grant applications, partnerships with various County, state and federal agencies, and with the overall process of developing a path toward greater economic vitality for the community.
