ERS staff continue to closely monitor the situation regarding COVID-19, taking into account guidance from the CDC and World Health Organization, and mirroring the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission’s actions, for the ERS’ operations. Our first priority has been to implement policies to provide for the health and safety of our team, but also to ensure continuity of mission essential functions. While the immediate health risk from COVID-19 is considered low at this time, the ERS has temporarily suspended in-person interactions with members and the public. Out of an abundance of caution, the ERS is utilizing social distancing, including telework and rotational office schedules, in an effort to protect staff and members. The ERS is maintaining a reduced office presence to ensure a continuation of services to active employees, retirees and survivors. If staff absences occur, there may be a temporary disruption to operations and services will be prioritized. All retirees and survivors are encouraged to contact the ERS via ContactERS@mncppc.org or by phone at 301-454-1415. As the COVID-19 situation is evolving daily, members should continue to watch for updates on the ERS’ website at ers.mncppc.org.
