Get to Know Prince George’s County
Prince George’s County, Maryland, located just east of Washington, D.C., is the second-most populous county in the state, with over 955,000 residents as of the 2023 U.S. Census Bureau ACS1. It is one of the most demographically diverse counties in the region, with a majority African-American population (59.8%), and growing Hispanic or Latino (21.7%) and immigrant communities1. It also hosts major institutions such as the University of Maryland, College Park, and NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center, contributing to a strong professional and academic presence.
