Historic Property Capital Grant Program
The Prince George’s County Historic Property Grant Program (HPGP), in its 17th year, helps fund the rehabilitation, restoration, preservation, or acquisition of historic property. Capital grants from the program are designed to preserve, protect, and enhance historic properties; encourage others to preserve, protect, and enhance historic properties; and promote interest in and the study of historic properties. The Prince George’s County Planning Department of The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) administers the grant program on behalf of the Prince George’s County Planning Board.
The FY 2026 Historic Property Grant Program grant round will begin in late June 2025 and will close on Friday, August 15, 2025. No new applications will be accepted after this deadline. The FY 2026 application forms, instructions, and program guidelines are linked below.

Virtual Grant Workshops
Four virtual grant workshops will be held for the FY 2025 grant round for those interested. These workshops will walk prospective applicants through the application form and provide them with information on grant program guidelines and processes.
- Tuesday, July 8, 2025—2:30 p.m.–4:00 p.m.
- Saturday, July 19, 2025—9:30 a.m.–11:00 a.m.
- Tuesday, July 22, 2025—9:30 a.m.–11:00 a.m.
- Wednesday, July 23, 2025—6:00 p.m.–7:30 p.m.

Historic Preservation Commission’s Non-Capital Grant Program
The Prince George’s County Historic Preservation Commission’s Non-Capital Grant Program (Grant Program) provides grants to support projects that identify, preserve, promote, and protect the historical, cultural, and archeological resources of Prince George’s County for the benefit of the public and to encourage the revitalization of communities. These grants are intended to help produce and disseminate information, stimulate public discussion about preservation, make technical expertise accessible, and encourage community partnerships. The Grant Program can be used to pay for professional services such as preservation and planning consultants, planning studies, design work, and education.
